TTTamara Hiveley's Biography
Tamara Hiveley (Mackey), was born in Detroit, MI., raised in Dearborn, and lived in different parts of the state most her life. She is currently living in Luzerne, Michigan, married and has two sons and 6 grandchildren. Tamara has never had any structural training from teachers, videos or art books. She is a self-taught artist, drawing and painting everything from wildlife to Surrealism, all her life. Ever since she can remember, she would sit at the dinning room table and draw mountains and horses. Horses was the love of her life. Tamara learned to paint with number painting kits and then practiced painting by copping other artists work. Her first oil painting was a Indian standing in water. She said, "If he can do it, I can do it". She never had much growing up and loved the nice things in life, that she couldn't afford. So, if there was anything she liked or wanted, she made it herself. Tamara became, a very creative person and has a "God giving" talent.
Tamara Hiveley's Artist Statement
I take pride in my work, making sure I paint to the best of my ability. My paintings are highly detailed and colorful. People tell me, I have a little Picasso-flair and even a little Vincent Van Gogh-ish, in some of my paintings. My media is oil, acrylic, chalk and colored pencil.

Creative Process
My creative process is seeing things on TV, in magazines or just out of my head, that I like and think, "that would be a nice painting".
Then I start drawing and sometimes it changes along the way, turning into something entirely different from what it started out to be. Sometimes I group different pictures together to make one.
I'm constantly thinking and looking for new ideas. When I see something I like, I paint it.
