Sue McInally
Photographer
Sue McInally resides in Northern Michigan and has spent the majority of her life here. She is married and has two wonderful adult children and three grandchildren. In 1998 Sue completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Organizational Development. During her continued education McInally took a class in watercolors and loved it until she realized her shortfalls in drawing limited her capabilities. She grew interested in photography and found it was easier to be the person behind the camera rather than being photographed. The reduced cost of shooting from digital imagery has given her the freedom to discover her skills.
McInally’s accomplishments include awards in amateur competitions, featured photographs in the Great Lakes Echo website, and a featured photographer in the 2011 Novi Conservation Show to promote Northern Michigan activities. McInally continues to take photography classes and believes there are many things to learn. She enjoys wildlife photography but has taken senior and family portraits. She would rather be outside photographing nature than shopping and her photographs reflect the many hours she spends in the woods. She enjoys other’s art as much as her own and finds that continuing to study different artistic styles stimulates her motivation. In addition to photography she enjoys matting and framing artwork.
Artist Statement
The highlight of any shoot is sharing the finished photographs and this completes the circle of photography from taking to giving.
