So you want to know a little more about us? Great!
In 2007 a group of artists and patrons formed an arts council known as the Watershed Art Project. In 2010 the interest in art and culture in the Grayling area took on new energy fueled in part by the input and interest of Dr. Tom Quinn, president of Kirtland Community College. In September of that year, Watershed Art Project expanded its mission and became known as the AuSable Artisan Village.
Several juried art shows and exhibitions organized by AuSable Artisan Village have drawn an audience that packed the house.
Given the success of these juried shows the Board decided it was time to establish a seamless presence in downtown Grayling by opening an art Center with education facilities, art gallery and gift shop. The 5,000 square foot facility opened to the public on Memorial Day weekend of 2011.
